I didn't expect
to see you here
stomach clenching
chest tightening

I can't imagine
what it would be like
to feel calm
with you near

I don't know
how else to say this
but you give me
goose bumps.

There is something
strangely beautiful
about the tiny bumps
on our skin

its like a reminder
you're only human
you're real
and that completely
fine.

it reminds us
that we should be
fuzzy
soft
excited
scared

it reminds us
its perfectly ok
to simply be
us.

must prop eyelids open long enough to right something.

today
I decided to shave
I decided to dance

but first
I had to walk outside
and it was cold

now
it no longer really looks
like I shaved today.

This weeks topic is Goose bumps.

Jumping into the shower

it takes my body a moment

to realize

it's not cold anymore

as the steam pours around me

the little bumps on my arms

slowly start

to fade into my skin.

The Project

what is "the Poetry Project" ?

it's something I'm making myself do so I uphold a new goal--write something everyday.

Each week I'm going to give myself a topic and each day I will attempt to write a poem within that topic occasionally I will post things from inspiration as well.

why a new blog for this?

so my old blog doesn't get cluttered up with something entirely different

also I made this blog invitation only so I can see exactly who reads it I mean I don't really care who does I just want to know who does.
